Improbable
Phelim McDermott and his theatre company, Improbable, came in residence at Metal for three weeks. They used this time to investigate an embryonic idea for a new kind of theatre experience that would combine the skills of the stage with those employed throughout the world in conflict resolution and ‘World Work’.
Three weeks of intense exploration with fifteen actors skilled in improvisation technique were complemented by organized dinners and debates with invited artists from different disciplines, those in conflict and those who work to resolve conflict.
The culmination of the residency was a work-in-progress performance at St James’s Church, West Hampstead with 50 invited guests who fully participated in the continued development and debate around the idea.
