Riverside Housing – Building Futures

In 2004 one of the largest Housing Associations in the North West – Riverside Housing – asked Metal to design and run a bespoke, four day residential workshop for its 25 senior directors, to assist them in locating within each individual their personal vision for the company.  They were also keen to rediscover and consolidate a shared vision for all their leaders.

Metal created an imaginative, stimulating and thought-provoking four days which succeeded in providing an opportunity for the central and regional offices to collectively look to the future with a renewed sense of a cohesive mission.

Though the event was held in a conventional venue – the conference suite of Swinton Park Hotel - Metal was able to engender a creative centre in all the activities, taking the participants on a journey they universally thought was the most rewarding ‘training’ they had ever experienced.

“   You took several of us on journeys that we were not anticipating, but having talked to several colleagues, were glad to have taken. Thanks for that.”  Bill Taylor, Development Dir., Riverside Housing

“ Everyone I have spoken to had the same view of the event and it is universally regarded by them as one of the best team building events they have ever been on.  For the organization, it has given us enormous food for thought, and we certainly intend to take the issues raised forward.”  Dave Jepson, Dir. of Regeneration, Riverside Housing

In partnership with Andrew Siddall of B Consultant Architects, Metal created an interactive, participatory, visual record of the journey taken by Riverside directors over the four days, housed in a virtual, 'walk through' environment that can be revisited, and added to, as the company progresses.
