Metal

North Road

In 2009, working in partnership with artist’s group CoExist and Essex & Suffolk Water (ESW), Metal developed a Temporary Art Project (TAP) at ESW’s empty North Road complex. The building which has been empty for a number of years is providing the space for a temporary gallery, studio and small creative business complex.

With funding from Arts Council England, East and Southend on Sea Borough Council via an Economic Participation grant, the building has been fitted and kitted out to offer affordable studio space, gallery opportunities for new and emerging artists, a screening room for a 16mm and digital projection, and a shared office facility for 4 small creative businesses.
