YoHa

Graham Harwood and Matsuko Yokokoji (YoHa) are internationally recognized artists specializing in digital media. They are currently in residence at Metal in Southend on Sea exploring projects and ideas in partnership with Metal and other UK and international arts partners, including FACT in Liverpool, AV festival, the NHS Liverpool and the burgeoning Digital Exploration Centre in Southend.
Previously part of the collective Mongrel, based at their innovative community based project MediaShed they have a reputation for pioneering arts projects, including the first online commission from Tate Modern and work in the permanent collection of the Pompidou Centre (Paris) and ZKM (Karlsruhe). They recently won a Transmediale 2009 award for their work ‘Tantalum Memorial’.
Working with a fusion of art, electronic media and street culture, their interest lies in trying to reach beyond the hierarchies of power and knowledge.
