We are two artists who have been working collaboratively with each other, groups and communities for the past 10 years. Together we have hosted artist retreats, run a community art festival and an artist book project, cooked as practice for residencies, created an oral history project, curated exhibitions in galleries and disused spaces, exhibited as artists and delivered countless workshops and worked with numerous communities. Recently we have been working on Ruffles – named after Clare’s mishearing of Becca’s favourite Italian Snack Bar – to explore ideas around hosting, food, site specificity and community engagement within various settings.
For our Metal residency we will be working with the personal archive of artist and independent curator Mike Tooby, producing a new artwork or proposition. The outcome is open ended, and we will be spending some rich and focused time in developing our ideas around how an archive is creatively activated.
