About:

Claire Weetman

Using traditional drawing media, video installations, projection and public interventions, Claire creates works in both galleries and public spaces which interact and engage the passing audience.  During her residency Claire would like to spend time at Chalkwell Hall as part of the research phase of a body of new work ‘a landscape of marginal encounters’ which will form a solo exhibition in June 2014 at the Brindley Arts Centre, Cheshire.  She is researching and developing new installations and artworks which explore how people move through spaces and what factors affect that movement.  Whilst based in Southend she would aim to compare how housing and population issues differ between a South East coastal town and a North West post-industrial town.
