During their Time and Space Residency at Metal in Southend on Sea, Peter Middleton and James Spinney are developing the feature film NOTES ON BLINDNESS.
The project is based upon the audio diaries of the writer and academic John Hull. Shortly after the loss of his sight in the early 1980s, John documented his experiences of the interior world of blindness on audio-cassette. They were later described by the neurologist Oliver Sacks as ‘a masterpiece’. The feature film follows Peter and James’ award-winning short based on the same material, which premiered at Sundance 2014.
