Artist, producer and musician Kerry Devine has been working on a musical body of work about the Fenland landscape ‘Away From Mountains’. Identity and heritage are big themes in this project – Away From Mountains is a collection of photography, music and archive audio exploring the fenland landscape and people’s relationship with it. After a year of researching the landscape of the Fens and the people integrated within it, Kerry is now working on how to showcase the work.
Whilst in residence at Metal Kerry will be developing how the body of work will be shared, creating an experience for the audience, immersing them into another time, into the world of the fens.
About Kerry Devine
The crystalline vocals of multi instrumentalist, writer and producer Kerry Devine have been compared to the likes of Beth Orton and Joni Mitchell.
Her debut album, ‘Away From Mountains’ (released 2017), is lyrically honest and musically bewitching. “Kerry has turned in an album that roams in a beguiling wilderness rather than the familiar and comfortable urban territory of regular popular music.
