Metal’s artist in residence Molly Chambers is hosting a paper star making workshop at Peterborough Celebrates festival. During the workshop, Molly will teach participants how to create their own 3D star in different sizes, from small to large. Participants will be able to use a range of materials to decorate and collage these stars with; creating a design that celebrates Peterborough, members of its community and/or fond memories of their favourite areas.
About Molly Chambers
Metal Peterborough hosts local and national artists from across the country to come and spend time in the city to develop their creative ideas and new projects. Since January this year, artist Molly Chambers has been in residence with Metal as a part of The Kickstart Scheme. The Kickstart Scheme is a programme which offers job roles and apprenticeships for 16 – 24-year-olds to get into different careers. Metal’s Kickstart is a 6-month artist residency.
During Molly’s time in Peterborough, she has been focused on discovering her creative niche and questioning how her skills could be of service to others. She has been previously involved in working with the communities, sharing and instructing different creative processes through workshops. Molly feels that art is part of human nature and our engagement with it, viewing or making, should be encouraged to uplift society.
