Artists – Crowbar into Tech . A week of free remote workshops and drop-in support.

Opening: 21/08/20 – 28/08/20 | Free

Engage with technology in the arts by building it, not just using the tools you are given.
Challenge your expectations of opportunities and threats, gain practical skills and contextual understanding.
Take creative leadership on your own terms, in an increasingly digital world.

Led by artist and creative technologist Laura Trevail, this learning is designed for arts professionals experienced in their own field, but new to working with technology. Equally suited to the tech-curious and the tech-phobic, this is a good chance to get your learning safely, responsibly, and without being patronized. This is an opportunity for critically-engaged, proactive, and hopeful guided exploration of an unfamiliar landscape.

The workshops offer a mixture of digital and physical hands-on learning, with supporting informal drop-ins.
All workshops take place remotely, on Zoom, ensuring full and equal accessibility for professionals vulnerable to Covid-19.

The digital learning hands-on elements require a basic Raspberry Pi kit, which can be assembled inexpensively from common bits and pieces – just add the Pi to safely explore the digital world without meddling on your expensive computer!

Find the Raspberry Pi kit list with shopping links here.
