6PM – Kristian Downer – Social Media Strategies

Kristian is a  respected digital marketing strategist with experience helping creative companies find their way to revenue using digital marketing including social media as part of their growth strategy.   Kristian has worked with national jewellery brands, distributors and retailers in the contemporary and vintage markets and run his own events supporting this sector.

Kristian strongly believes that although creativity is a powerful tool for businesses using digital media, it should be supported by  a focused and deliberate strategy to deliver more than just likes, shares, pins and retweets.

Kristian will use his talk to highlight how creative businesses can use digital media to share their work and turn their online presence into sales, event bookings and revenue.

7pm – 7.30pm: 3 Minute Wonders – Up to 10 x 3 minute ‘open mic’ spots for artists/organisations to talk about new ideas, existing projects, opportunities coming up, or calls for support etc.dowsocial.com

7.30pm: Invited guest speakers Helen Stratford and Idit Nathan will talk about their work with opportunity for Q&A

Idit Nathan and Helen Stratford, have for the past three years collaborated on projects across visual and live art, all of which share an engagement with spaces and how different publics interact within them in playful and performative ways.

Their current project PLAY PETERBOROUGH NOW OR NEVER! will see them create a playful App for mobile devices that takes people in Peterborough on an interactive ‘live art’ journey around their city to experience and engage with the city in a fresh, imaginative and mischievous way – and local people will have the opportunity to contribute to it. PLAY PETERBOROUGH NOW OR NEVER! is the first in a series of Apps that Helen and Idit plan to develop in different conurbations around the country. Plans are already at an advanced stage to take the idea to Southend in 2016.

For Future Network Idit and Helen will be talking about the project, it’s aims and ambitions and importantly how you can get involved. All over the country our cities and landscapes are being redeveloped and they are becoming increasingly regulated. Idit and Helen believe that unless we reclaim them NOW in playful and fun ways we will NEVER be able to call them our own!
