As part of Liverpool Provocations, Metal presents SHRINE by FOREST SWORDS.
This intimate solo dance piece is a physical and aural exploration of the human body, breath and spirit – a powerful reclamation of the body as a tool for independence, purpose, and personal liberation. Devised and scored by Forest Swords, and performed at the historic Black-E in the heart of Liverpool’s Chinatown, ‘Shrine’ is a euphoric, occasionally uncomfortable search into ourselves and our inner workings.
Presented as part of the Liverpool Provocations: four new public realm art works for Liverpool’s city centre during the January sales season.
Shrine will be performed twice on Saturday 23rd January, at 5.45pm and 7.45pm
Duration: 35 mins approx. Features some strobing. This is a standing performance.
Music / art direction by Forest Swords. Choreography by Carmel Koster. Production / lighting design by Venya @ The Kazimier. Dance by Owen Ridley-Demonick. Additional consultation by Jon Hall, Shaun Curtis.
The performance is free but booking is essential.
