What is Intersectionality?

The workshop, led by Chardine Taylor-Stone and Dr. Ellie Gore, will consist of an illustrated talk and group work using music, art and fashion examples to drive discussions. The session gets participants thinking about intersectional feminism and how it can manifest in our day-to-day lives.  All are welcome of course, however please be aware that we will be putting intersectionality into ‘practice’ in this space and therefore are encouraging those who have been historically marginalised because of their gender, sexual orientation, race, (dis)ability or class to attend.

To find out more about Intersectionality and why it is important, see Kimberle Crenshaw’s informative and timely TED talk ‘The Urgency of Intersectionality’?

Chardine Taylor-Stone is an award-winning cultural producer and feminist activist. She is currently an artist-in-residence at Metal Peterborough
Dr Ellie Gore is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the Department of Politics at the University of Sheffield
