Stewards
(20 volunteers, must be over 18, available to volunteer 8 hours)

Stewards make up our second largest volunteer team. They contribute to the smooth-running of the day and help to provide the public face of Village Green. They are often the first people that visitors meet when they arrive onsite, so good stewards have a really important part to play.

Stewards are involved in helping to give out information to visitors, patrolling given areas, crowd monitoring and counting in visitors, making sure areas are clean and safe, setting up market stalls, covering market stalls, and supporting art workshops. All stewards are given training specific to their role and a detailed safety briefing onsite in September.

We ask stewards to volunteer for a shift of eight hours, with 1 break of an hour or 2 breaks of half an hour; the 8 hour shift will either be from 7am-3pm or 3pm to 11pm. You will be required to arrive 15 mins before your shift starts. Sometimes people want to volunteer with a friend or want to be able to get to something specific on the programme. We can’t promise, but we will try to accommodate this. You will be provided with food and drink on the day.

If you have friends or are part of a larger group who might want to apply too, please pass on the application form to them. The deadline for applications to join the Stewardng Team is Friday 10th September 2010. The training session for the Stewarding Team will be at 7pm, Wednesday 16th September 2010 at Chalkwell Hall.
