Strike for Liberty! The Remarkable Story of the 1911 Liverpool Transport Strike

To commemorate the centenary of the 1911 Liverpool Transport Strike METAL @ Edge Hill station will be hosting a discussion and excerpts from theatre production "Rid the World" by Rob Johnston. A debate about the strike and how it failed will be led by local historians Ray Physick and Paul Salveson who will also be giving a brief talk on trade unions and socialism in the North West. Ray and Paul will be joined by the production’s director Ed Barrett and writer Rob Johnston for the audience discussion. This promises to be a very interesting evening inviting discussion about workers’ rights and collective power which is still highly relevant today. The evening will end with a homemade bowl of scouse.

The event will take place at METAL Liverpool on Tuesday 15th March from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Places are limited so please R.S.V.P to avoid disappointment
