The Listening Bench is Metal’s newest addition to NetPark – the world’s first digital art park. It’s a bench with changing audio – from poetry, archival material to conversations with artists we will programme new and interesting things to listen to while sitting and enjoying the park environment each month. Originally part of the Essex Records Office, You Are Hear: sound and a sense of place project The Listening Bench has travelled 260 miles, with 32,000 ‘listens’ in its two-year round-Essex tour! It’s new home for the foreseeable future is here at Metal as part of our NetPark programme.

The Listening Bench is located outside Chalkwell Hall – on the decking facing the sea and is accessible 24/7.
