AN INTRODUCTION TO THE PETERBOROUGH PRESENTS TRAINING PROJECT AND THE CONNECTION CULTURE PROGRAMME
The Connection-Culture programme is a new 3-year programme of audience development, capacity building and new commissions, which aims to increase engagement, both as participants and audiences, in the arts in Peterborough.
Vivacity, Peterborough’s Cultural Trust is the lead partner for the Creative People and Places consortium which includes Step Up, Metal, Creative Peterborough and Voluntary Arts.
In early 2013 a consortium of organisations came together in Peterborough to develop a ten-year vision to capitalise on the dynamism of the place as the fastest growing city in the UK with a young and incredibly diverse population. The partnership’s ambition is to create a long term step-change in the levels of arts participation and the capacity of the local creative sector to deliver a high quality cultural offer. Peterborough is currently in the bottom 20% nationally for public engagement in the arts as both participants and audiences.
The programme is funded by Arts Council England (Creative People and Places fund), Vivacity, Norfolk and Norwich Festival Bridge and Peterborough City Council. Sign-up and find out more information here.

Small Commissions application and information
The Peterborough Presents…programme aims to build audiences for the arts through activities that encourage participation. The small commissions programme supports projects in which artists (both voluntary and professional) actively collaborate with their intended audience. You are encouraged to attend a Chamber of Culture stimulus day prior to submitting an application. These free sessions are delivered by Metal and are designed to support you in developing a project idea that meets the aims of the Peterborough Presents… programme.
