Metal has been working with H2 Dance on their project, Fest en Fest – YOUTH. Fest en Fest invites young people including those from Peterborough College to come together and think about what a festival of the future might look and feel like. Young people will initiate, run and curate a festival as they want it to be, and commission three local artists to work with in collaboration with H2DANCE.

In 2022 Fest en Fest – YOUTH will run over four locations: Peterborough, Colchester, Cambridge UK, and Serta Portugal.  We would like local young people to part take in each other’s festivals and develop their own networks, connections and opportunities.

Fest en Fest – YOUTH will have its UK premiere in Peterborough during May – more information coming soon.

If you’d like to get involved and take part, get in touch by emailing ruth@metalculture.com.

Background information

H2DANCE/Fest en Fest (SE/NO/UK)

Fest en Fest is an international festival of expanded choreography initiated and curated by Hanna Gillgren (SE) and Heidi Rustgaard (NO) from H2DANCE (www.h2dance.com) in collaboration with producer Natalie Richardson (UK).

Fest en Fest is a concept making space for artists and audiences to come together and present live works and ideas, to discuss, provoke, influence and be a force for change. Through performances, talks, lunches and parties, H2DANCE’s aim is to present a programme of UK & Nordic artists working across dance & performance.

Fest en Fest piloted in June 2018 in Deptford London, with a second festival in February 2022 in Deptford, Colchester and Cambridge.

H2DANCE has since developed two more strands; Fest en Fest – LAB which takes more of a research and process angle, and Fest en Fest –YOUTH, a curatorial project for and with young people inspired by Reykjavik’s Dance Festival “TEEN in Reykjavik”.
