Metal New Artist Network Zine Project

This summer, Metal will publish a zine filled with experiences of being an early career artist. The zine will showcase the work of artists within the network, as well as sharing some advice, motivation and/or provocations about the reality of starting out in an arts career.

It will comprise of up to 10 submissions from artists within the network, selected following an open call to members. Artists will submit their proposed artwork/written piece and will be paid a £50 fee for inclusion.

Our call out for submissions of artwork is current live! The call out at a glance:

• Zine theme: your experiences of being early career artists!
• A piece of artwork sized A5 or landscape A4 if double spread (a max of 2 pages per artist). It can be new or existing artwork
• Your piece can be poetry, illustration, essay, audio, photography, collage and more! (see expanded list below)
• A £50 fee per submission if selected
• You must be part of the Metal New Artist Network to submit (joining takes 5 minutes here)
• Closing date for submissions: 5pm Monday 4 April
