If you like your storytelling you’re in for a treat. Southend author Syd Moore, beloved for her thrilling novels such as The Drowning Pool, Witch Hunt, and Strange Magic, will be reading a blood-chilling extract from her new book Strange Sight – the second in the Essex Witch Museum series – at Old Trunk theatre company’s event Damn Write.

Old Trunk, known for their plays Pramkicker and Fran & Leni by award-winning writer Sadie Hasler, developed on Time & Space Residency here at Metal Southend, have revived their popular storytelling event Tales & Ales, now named Damn Write. The theme is Bitches, Witches & Queens, and will feature stories from an eclectic array of creatives including Ricky Champ, Jo Farrugia, Heidi Wigmore, Yasmine Ben-Afia, Simon Blackman, Kelly Buckley, Wendy Solomon, Thomas Coombes, Rachel Keys, Sean Groth, Isobel Oliver, & Summer Rowley-Kirby.
