Alex Murdoch

Alex is a theatre maker, writer and actor.


Recent independent projects include; Everything By My Side directed by Fernando Rubio for LIFT, Animo and Permission Improbable with Improbable Theatre, Around the World in 80 Days for NIE, R&D with Caroline Horton and with Angela Clerkin, an attachment at National Theatre Studio and speaking and compering Women of the World Caerdydd at Wales Millennium Centre 2014.  She is also developing Birdhouse – a project which supports independent women theatre makers.  Previous to this she ran acclaimed theatre company Cartoon de Salvo touring everywhere from Edinburgh to Hong Kong.

As a writer she has been Royal Courts first 26+ writers group and been commissioned by National Theatre Wales.  She is working on a new english version of a Catalan piece by Sergi López and Jorge de Picó called 30/40 Livingstone.  Her play about borders and refuge Light is on a timer (working title) is currently is under commission to the RSC.
