Bettina Furnee and Lucy Sheerman

Lucy and Bettina are interested in the influence and symbolism of the moon. Bettina has made time-lapse films capturing the effect on tides and Lucy has written poetry and a short play in collaboration with the Apollo 15 Command Module Pilot Al Worden. They have used their residency to develop and further their shared interest and opportunities for collaboration in the context of the city.

As their residency developed they are creating a new composition to the format of Evensong for Peterborough Cathedral, with original libretto and films based on interviews with Peterborough couples contemplating an extended mission to the moon.

Working with composer Cheryl Frances-Hoad to write a 50-minute composition, performed at Peterborough Cathedral by Steven Grahl with the cathedral choir, community choir and organist, staged with projections, booklets and simple costumes.
