Helena Hunter works across a range of media including live performance, text and moving image. Her practice is concerned with an investigation into notions of performance, performativity and spectatorship in contemporary art and visual culture. Helena trained in Theatre and has recently completed her Master’s in Fine Art at Slade School of Fine Art.
During the residency at Metal Southend on Sea, she plans to reflect on findings from her studies and to focus her research interests.
The residency will culminate in the development of series of mixed media works that explore the critical and political potential of performance and performativity in contemporary art.
