Artist Kolia Bene makes theatre work for mixed-ability audiences (physical or mental health challenged groups), independently and in collaboration. Her work is community-driven and includes performance, installation, participatory public art, drawing, digital media and writing. A prominent theme within their work is the concern with the actuality of things and of situations.
During their remote residency, Kolia will be researching and questioning what our utopia looks like, and who we are in it. Borrowing practices from the world of theatre, dance, visual arts and online role-play, she hopes to create art provocations that will engage participants to create their own digital universe, starting with these questions: What would the online version of our imaginative community look like? And who would you be in it?
