A Dutch company – N8W8 – were commissioned to make a film about Southend-on-Sea, and it’s really rather beautiful.

It’s certainly brought lustre to some familiar sights that often get forgotten as we pass them every day, and Metal ladies Colette Bailey, Paige Ockendon, & artist Heidi Wigmore appear in a rather serene section about Netpark – the world’s first Digital Art Park right here at Metal, Chalkwell Park.

There’s delightful imagery of the Thames Estuary – soon to be celebrated in all its glory by our behemoth project four years in the making Estuary Festival – and some very impressive ships which command us to imagine the maritime sights that passed through these changeable waters in centuries gone by. We also get treated to a rare bird’s eye view of the impressive gardens here at Chalkwell Park, tended to daily by brilliant park staff.
