We are excited to announce our new residency artists at Metal: OOMK and Morgan Quaintance (Southend), Kate Genever and Jonah Batambuze (Peterborough), and Beverley Bennett (Liverpool). Each artist was selected from our local communities and invited to complete a residency with us. We look forward to supporting our new residency artists, watching their work develop in our spaces and amplifying voices from a range of artistic backgrounds. 



OOMK (one of my kind) is an art publishing collective run by Sofia Niazi, Rose Nordin and Heiba Lamara. Together, they produce OOMK zine, a biannual publication focused on women, art and activism as well as various art publications prompted by collective research. Learn more about OOMK here.

Morgan Quaintance

Morgan Quaintance is a London-based artist and writer. His moving image work has been shown and exhibited widely at a range of festivals and institutions. Learn more about Morgan here.

Kate Genever

Kate Genever is a multi-disciplinary artist and a farmer, who with her family, runs a traditional mixed farm in South Lincolnshire. As an artist, she works internationally, considering how we improvise and imagine. Learn more about Kate here.

Jonah Batambuze

Jonah Batambuze is a Ugandan-American activist and self-taught interdisciplinary artist born in Chicago and raised in the cornfields of central Illinois. His artwork is often participatory, centers marginalized identities and focuses on solidarity-building at the intersection of Black x Brown cultures. Learn more about Jonah here.

Beverley Bennett

Beverley Bennett is an artist-filmmaker whose work revolves around the possibilities of drawing, performance and collaborative experiments with sound. Her practice is connected to multiple ways of making. Learn more about Beverley here.

Bill Posters

Working under the pseudonym Bill Posters, Barney Francis is an artist-researcher, author, activist with a critical practice. His work interrogates disinformation, persuasion architectures and power relations that exist in public space and online, often exploring disinformation, propaganda, truth, trust and power.
